A&C Meridian is a two-person web design studio run by Stephen Alatriste (Maryland) and Michael Cortes (New York). We sell custom managed websites to small businesses and content creators across the United States. This policy explains what information we collect on acmeridian.co, how we use it, and what choices you have.
We've tried to write this in plain English. If anything is unclear, email stephen@acmeridian.co and we'll explain it.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. There are two places on the site where you can do that:
- Contact form: your name, business name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of project you're asking about, and your message.
- Pricing calculator: your name, email address, and business name (optional), along with the build options you selected.
When you use our free site audit tool, you enter a URL you want analyzed. We pass that URL to Google's PageSpeed Insights API and show you the results. We don't store the URL or the report on our servers.
We do not run Google Analytics, Hotjar, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking or advertising scripts on this site. We do not have a marketing email program. We do not buy data from data brokers. We do not collect data about you from anywhere other than the forms you fill out.
How we use what you give us
We use your contact and pricing information for one purpose: to reply to your inquiry and, if you become a client, to communicate with you about your project. That's it.
We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not exchange it for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not use it for targeted advertising.
Who else touches your data
We use a few third-party services to run the site. Each one is named here, with what it touches:
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) — When you submit our contact form or pricing calculator, the form contents are transmitted to FormSubmit's servers, which forward the submission to our email inboxes. FormSubmit may set anti-spam cookies and process your IP address as part of that delivery. FormSubmit's data handling is governed by its own privacy policy at formsubmit.co/privacy.pdf.
- Porkbun mail forwarding — Our domain registrar handles inbound email forwarding for acmeridian.co. When a form submission or any other email is sent to our address, it passes through Porkbun's mail-forwarding servers before reaching our mailbox. Porkbun's handling is governed by its own privacy policy at porkbun.com/privacy.
- Google PageSpeed Insights API — When you use our site audit tool, the URL you submit is sent to Google's servers, which load and analyze that URL. Google may log the request as described in Google's Privacy Policy and Google APIs Terms of Service. Only submit URLs of websites you own or have permission to test.
- Google Fonts — Our site loads typography from Google's Fonts CDN. When your browser loads a page, it makes a request to Google's font servers, which transmits your IP address and browser headers to Google for the purpose of delivering the fonts. Google's documentation states font request data is not used for advertising.
- Cloudflare Pages — Our hosting provider. Cloudflare processes standard server logs (IP address, request URL, timestamp) for the purpose of serving the site and protecting it from attack. We use Cloudflare's aggregate analytics dashboard (page views, top pages, country, referrer) to see traffic patterns. This is derived from those same server logs. There is no tracking script on the site, no cookies, and no personal data beyond what is already in the logs.
Cookies
Our site does not set its own cookies. FormSubmit may set anti-spam cookies when you submit a form. Cloudflare may set a session cookie for hosting and bot-protection purposes. We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking.
How long we keep things
Form submissions sit in our email inbox for as long as we need them to serve you — typically as long as you're a client, or up to two years after your last inquiry if you didn't become a client. We delete older inquiries periodically. We may retain information longer if we need it to comply with tax law, prevent fraud, or defend a legal claim.
How to ask us to delete your data
Email stephen@acmeridian.co with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.” Include the email address you originally contacted us from so we can find your message. We'll delete the submission and confirm by reply within 30 days. If we need to keep something for legal reasons, we'll tell you what and why.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under your state's privacy law — including the right to know what we have, the right to get a copy, the right to correct it, the right to have it deleted, and the right not to be discriminated against for asking. These rights are available to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, among others. The list keeps growing.
To exercise any of these rights, email stephen@acmeridian.co. We'll respond within 30 days. If we deny a request, we'll explain why and how to appeal. We will not charge you for exercising your rights, and we will not treat you any differently for asking.
Children's privacy
Our site is intended for business customers age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in keeping with the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We also do not knowingly process personal information from anyone under 18 for targeted advertising or profiling. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email stephen@acmeridian.co and we'll delete it.
Security
Our site runs over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted. We limit access to inbox data to Stephen and Michael. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat the information you send us as confidential.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once a year. If we change something substantive — a new third-party service, a new use of your data — we'll post the updated policy at least 30 days before it takes effect. If a change would expand how we use information we already collected from you, we will ask for your consent before applying the new use to your existing data.
